Cortina d’Ampezzo (BL), 7th February 2021 – The World Championships are about to start and the Queen of the Dolomites is ready to host the much anticipated event that promises to be one of the most media-friendly of all times. Among the news, a special project – the result of a collaboration between Fondazione Cortina 2021 and the Veneto Region – to be inaugurated at Hotel de la Poste Sunday 7 February at 17.00 in the presence of the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia, the Government Commissioner of the Cortina 2021 project Valerio Toniolo, the Mayor of Cortina d’Ampezzo Gianpietro Ghedina and the President of Fondazione Cortina 2021 Alessandro Benetton.
Hotel de la Poste will in fact host Casa Veneto, a territorial communication hub with the Veneto Region as project leader together with Cortina 2021, and with the participation of ENIT – the national Tourism Agency, DMO Dolomiti, Dolomiti Superski, Consorzio Impianti a Fune and Cortina Marketing.
Casa Veneto is the special project conceived for the 2021 Alpine Ski World Championships. It is a space dedicated to promoting the Veneto Region, located at the Hotel de la Poste, where a dedicated TV studio has been installed. Every-day Sky Sport 24 will be live from Casa Veneto with two 15 minutes special editions at 12.45 and at 18.45, and with a post-produced programme to be broadcast late evening and again the following morning. The three special editions (two live, one post-produced and rebroadcastable) will be entitled: “#SkyCasaVeneto – Cortina 2021” to highlight the link with the territory hosting the event.
Also from Casa Veneto, the production of six episodes of “Forchette Stellari – Casa Veneto” presented by ‘El Bekér’ Fabrizio Nonis, airing at prime time on Canale 65. Six Michelin star chefs present recipes with DOP and IGP products from the Veneto region, and representatives of the producers are interviewed alongside personalities from the mountain areas. Interviews and unpublished material can be found on the social media channels of Visit Veneto.
Casa Veneto will also feature the “Cortina 2021 Digital Hub”, a live streaming TV studio that will broadcast on the Youtube channel of Fondazione Cortina 2021, and which will host institutional interventions, product presentations and other initiatives in collaboration with the World Championship partners.
Casa Veneto will also be the operative base for the Fondazione Cortina 2021 Media Committee, an open and constantly growing group of journalists, which includes more than 60 of the most important Italian media titles. A group of journalists which, during almost three years of work, have worked on the infrastructure legacy of the 2021 World Championships, as well as the intangible legacy of skills and experience left behind. In December 2020, “Cortina 2021. Queen of Sport” (currently in bookstores) was published to celebrate an important moment in the history of sport, for Cortina and for Italy, through a story made of love for skiing, for the territory, and for everything that has made Cortina the undisputed Queen of the Dolomites and Queen of Sport.
Hence, many initiatives will come alive at Casa Veneto, to tell the stories of the athletes and the event, with the objective of launching the words and the images of Cortina 2021 worldwide.
