Maison Cilento 1780, one of the major Italian fashion companies and one of the leaders in style and sartorial elegance in Naples and in Italy, made the official tie and silk scarf of the World Ski Championships, scheduled for next February in Cortina.

Maison Cilento is led by Ugo Cilento, the eighth generation of the historic Cilento family. He created the tie and the scarf taking inspiration from the official logo of the event. Both accessories are made with fine silks produced in Italy.

It is a great privilege for me to create these accessories for such an important sporting event. I’ve decided to celebrate the strength and the tenacity of our country, which keeps supporting both Italy’s best products and places, including the town of Cortina d’Ampezzo, which is one of the premier tourist and sports destinations in the world,” stated Ugo Cilento.

It is a real pleasure for Cortina to have entered into this partnership with one of the leading companies in the world of haute couture and one of the symbols of Made in Italy, in perfect harmony with the style of the Queen of the Dolomites and the Cortina 2021 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships,” commented Gianpietro Ghedina, Mayor of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The wide end of the navy blue tie sports the logo of the event, which is highly evocative of the passion for sport and alpine skiing – which is strongly felt in Cortina – and includes the colours of the Italian flag as well as a red squirrel, the symbol of the Queen of the Dolomites. The same logo is to be found on the scarf as well, with a green, white and red border that recalls the Italian flag – a symbol of unity and cohesiveness.
