Cortina d’Ampezzo (BL), February 12, 2021 – Tomorrow, 11 am, Olympia delle Tofane will host the Women’s downhill race, the third race of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Cortina 2021. 31 athletes will show up at the starting gate to face 42 doors along the famous slope of the Queen of the Dolomites.

Italy will open the competition with Francesca Marsaglia. The Slovenian Ilka Stuhec (gold medal in Åre two years ago) will start with bib number 17, while Swiss athletes Corinne Suter and Lara Gut-Behrami – the great protagonists of the opening super-G – with bibs 7 and 13. The American Mikaela Shiffrin – bronze in the opening super-G – won’t be there at the staring gate.

Men will be back on course at 1 pm for the second and final training before Sunday’s Downhill race, the race that will close the first week of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Cortina 2021.
