With this announce, Telepass will also launch its new brand identity and will provide Cortina with an integrated mobility system to make access to the slopes easier and more efficient
Cortina d’Ampezzo (BL), 19 November 2020 – Thanks to its technological innovation and its focus on sports and tourism development in Italy, Telepass – an Italian major company that created an integrated system in the field of urban and extra-urban mobility – has been named the presenting sponsor of Cortina 2021 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. The company will provide the Queen of the Dolomites with innovative services and sustainable mobility solutions to improve the skiing experience.
This partnership – which was established also thanks to Infront Sports & Media, media and marketing Advisor of Fondazione Cortina 2021 – was announced today, Thursday 19 November, by Valerio Giacobbi, CEO of Fondazione Cortina 2021, and Gabriele Benedetto, CEO of Telepass, during a digital press conference held on the Duca d’Aosta terrace overlooking the courses that will host the World Championship competitions from 7 to 21 February 2021.
The virtual meeting was also attended by the Mayor of Cortina Gianpietro Ghedina, the Government Commissioner for sporting facilities Valerio Toniolo and the President of Fondazione Cortina 2021 Alessandro Benetton. In their welcoming speeches, they have underlined the great value of this partnership.
Built on shared values, this partnership is aimed at developing projects for the future of the local area and improving sustainable mobility, even on the ski slopes, thus bringing long-term benefits.
By sharing the vision of Fondazione Cortina 2021, which is committed to building long-term partnerships between Cortina and the major national and international companies which have decided to team up with the organising committee of the World Championships, Telepass will provide the ski resort with its innovative services and help facilitate access to the ski slopes. Starting from February 2021, there will be the opportunity to use the Skipass service offered by Telepass: downloading the app, people can buy online the ski card – with a special design dedicated to Cortina 2021 World Ski Championships – and receive it at home. After registering, it will be possible to go skiing ski in Cortina without queuing at the ticket office and, at the end of the day, pay the fee set by the ski area for the actual time of stay on the slopes. This service is already available in 20 ski areas in Italy, for a total of over 1,500 km of slopes, and aims to facilitate access to the ski slopes and improve the skiing experience thanks to a smart, safe and clean mobility solution.
“We are very happy to have established this partnership with Telepass,” stated Valerio Giacobbi, CEO of Fondazione Cortina 2021. “It will leave a great legacy to the local community. Marked by technological innovation and use of cutting-edge technology to manage access to the ski slopes, this legacy will enhance sports and tourism development in the whole area. Thanks to this partnership, Cortina is now at the forefront when it comes to intermodal transportation, tourist flows management and digital skiing experience, so this new collaboration will help promote Cortina internationally”.
“Telepass is a forward-thinking company and we strongly believe in growth through innovation,” said Gabriele Benedetto, CEO of Telepass. “By supporting the 2021 World Ski Championships, we want to give a positive message to the world of sports, and especially the world of skiing, with which we have many affinities. We both, in fact, put the person at the centre and value their desire to get around easily, quickly and, possibly, with pleasure by jumping the queue. We also want to provide full support to Italy as a whole which, thanks to this event, will have the opportunity to prove to the world that it is an advanced, efficient, and reliable country. Since this big event will be under the international spotlight, it will also help promote our brand in Europe, where we hope to expand our presence”.
“We are very pleased to introduce Telepass as Cortina 2021 Presenting Sponsor,” affirmed Michael Witta, Vice President Marketing Sales Infront. “The world of winter sports has always been bound up with innovation regarding the development of technologies for new instruments and equipment, as well as digital services. We are happy that Cortina 2021 will become a symbol of technological development and innovative services aimed at allowing an even easier and faster access to winter resorts, both for athletes and tourists”.
While announcing its partnership with Cortina 2021, Telepass has also introduced its new logo, which will be featured on its website, below-the-line material, social networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and the company’s press releases from 2021. With this new brand identity, Telepass aims at emphasising its evolution to first enabler for a safe and sustainable integrated mobility system. The lightning, precise arrow reminds of the fact that Telepass is forward-thinking and wants to make people’s lives easier through a new mobility experience. The new logo still features the yellow and blue colours, while the use of lower-case letters and the fact that the other elements are rounded emphasise the symbolic value of the new letter ‘T’ – T for Telepass – and at the same time give the brand a friendlier and more dynamic tone.
