Cortina d’Ampezzo (BL), 08 February 2021 – Tomorrow in Cortina d’Ampezzo only the women’s super-G will go ahead. The men’s race is postponed until Thursday, in place of the first downhill training, which has been cancelled.
The women’s super-G on Olympia delle Tofane has been confirmed with a new start time. The race starts at 13.00 and the first contestant to plant her poles outside the start gate will be Italy’s Marta Bassino who will try to make the most of the strategy imparted by Italian coach Giovanni Feltrin. With the number 7, the most eagerly anticipated athlete of the day, Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami, current specialty leader in the World Cup. A total of 44 athletes, representing 23 nations, will start.
The women’s combined alpine race, cancelled this morning due to heavy snow, has been rescheduled for Monday 15 February, originally a rest day. The time of the super-G and slalom will be announced in the next few days.
